The Demonstration Garden is at the west end of the Washington County Fairplex. This garden features a series of vignette gardens that demonstrate a variety of gardening styles and methods. The original garden area consists of 24 raised beds. Notice the variety of materials used in their construction.
The themed gardens around the Floral Building include edible landscaping, native plants, deer-resistant landscaping and a garden to attract butterflies and other nectar-loving insects.
The newest area of the Demonstration Garden contains the composting area, a 16’x16’ greenhouse, storage sheds and an outdoor classroom area. Areas under development include a fruit and vegetable area that showcases raised beds and espalier fruit trees and another area that will showcase arbors and cane fruit. A permeable driveway/parking area is also currently under construction.
